
Antony Friedman

Antony Friedman is a specialist Gastroenterologist and Endoscopist. He has a broad range of interests in Gastroenterology, with a specific focus in quality bowel and oesophageal cancer screening, inflammatory bowel disease (IBD), coeliac disease, irritable bowel syndrome (IBS) and functional gastrointestinal disorders. Antony studied at Monash University and received his MBBS in 2004. He was admitted as a Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians as a specialist Gastroenterologist in 2011. He completed a Doctor of Medicine research degree in 2016 on medication optimisation for the treatment of IBD. His research program focuses on inflammatory bowel disease at The Alfred and Monash University where he is on staff as a VMO Gastroenterologist and Head of the Gandel Foundation Intestinal Ultrasound Unit. He is a member of the Epworth General Surgery and Gastroenterology Clinical Institute Executive Committee and the Avenue Hospital Medical Advisory Committee.
